Fitness trackers are great not only because they track your fitness, but they can also detect issues with the heart. I have a G-shock watch that has a tracker incorporated, don’t ever leave home without it.

I can definitely see the benefit of having a fitness tracker. It’s like being in a friendly (we hope) competition with yourself. Like you walked 3000 steps yesterday, how about 3005 today? I’m not sure how they would measure sleep. People like me, who have much trouble sleeping, just lay there and try to sleep. How would the tracker know if you’re laying down to meditate or you’re actually asleep? Anyway, whether or not it can tell if I’m sleeping, I think one would be great for using on the treadmill. Thank you for pointing out the benefit of these products. Now I want one!
Yes Cathy, I also have wondered how it is that they measure sleep but not only does it tell you how many hours and minutes you have slept but even how many of them have been deep sleep and how many light sleep or if you were awake for awhile. Quite amazing really! It even tells you the length of time for each and the exact time that it happened.

Aside from they look cute to me, I like its multi-use capability which is very helpful for a sports-minded person like me. It’s actually complete and there’s no need to wear several gadgets just to track of your heart rate and being water-proof. There’s just one wish I have for the manufacturer that it should also include tracking time like it’s an ordinary watch. If they can have all these, then it’s the ultimate wrist gadget to wear.
